Luca Strano is an Italian photography student currently based in London. In 2015 he achived his Visual Communication Diploma in Italy where he met Claudio Sabatino, a photographer, tutor and mentor which guide him towards his first period of approach. During the years he worked in different studios based in Milan, developing high knowloadge of the major creative work-flows and getting even more familiar with professional photography. At the same time, he started to develop interest in Editorial and publishing environment, which pushed him to start working on small indipendent publications with a collective which he founded in Milan called: Fondamenta. The collective is still working on projects and keep defining itself. Since September 2016 he is involved in the Bachelor of Art course in Documentary Photography at London College of Communication, directed by Jocelyn Bain Hogg from Seven photo agency. Antenne Books is a distributor for independent publishers. I’m working with the team caring about web and social contents. Discussing the weekly submissions and taking part during the book assesments I’m enriching my critical view and discovering the ins and outs of a distributor company.
Pluss is a multi-brand owner company related to the urban culture and involved in editorial, commercial and artistic projects. I’m been an internal member in the Photography area covering task like shooting (for editorial campaign and products for the e-commerce), retouching and general image managing for the website. I develop high confidence with different process and improved my technical abilities.
I worked as intern at Cirasa Studio for an internship. The studio works a lot with different brands, clients from fashion environment, advertising and musicians. I had the possibility to assist the photographer of the studio and work on the post-production session on the photographs. I feel confident on still-life retouching (as cloths, packagings, accessories) and retouching pictures for adv and editorial. I occasionally edited video and filmed backstages.
During my internship at Clas Studio I worked assistant of the entire creative team. I Worked specifically on photo shooting, retouching, photo set, advertisement , music video, brand identity, general graphic design and merchandising. Worked closely to the creative team, I understood the importance of have strong “ideas” and the importance of having concepts and consistency in every kind of project. Currently I am still in contact with Clas Studio and I work with them as a freelancer or assistant photographer during editorial or campaign shootings.
Documentary photography and photojournalism During my Bachelor course at London College of Communication I’m working on two different theorical and practical levels. I’m currently researching my photography interests and personality working under assignment and developing my critical view throught contextual studies.
During my Diploma course at Don Milani technology institute I have been educated in a multi-disciplinary environment which covered Design, Photography and basic Film Making practice. This course was supported by theorical media and mass communication studies and pratical laboratories which cares about the entire production process of contents.
