Hello!
My name is Lucandrea Baraldi and I’m an Italian designer based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
I’m an experience and conceptual designer, my work is based on careful research both empirical/material and theoretical, this is in my opinion an essential precondition for a well-crafted and meaningful concept to emerge. Aesthetic materialization is as much of a fundamental stage.
Apart from visual arts and design, I’ve been studying acoustics, music theory and composition: acoustic and visual aesthetics are, to me, very obviously intertwined. I give the words ‘music’ and ‘design’ the same meaning: formulation of a meaningful concept and the process to its materialization. Music, from this perspective, can be interpreted as the branch of design that deals with acoustic aesthetics, this is why my projects often make use of such a language.
I believe that design has the power to inject meaning: the interaction between one and its surrounding shouldn’t result in a merely functional activity, people need to live in emotional, sensorial and cultural landscapes.
Our homes, cities and environment should become museums yet not of dry beautiful objects, but meaningful experiences.
