  • Plastic Iceberg | Student Brief
Plastic Iceberg | Student BriefPlastics in our oceans is an ongoing issue that many people don’t realise the severity of. This poster series for the Marine Conservation Society aims to highlight the enormity of the problem to the general public through the use of an iceberg metaphor. The call to action is for people to give up single use plastics by joining the organisation’s Plastic Challenge.
  • Drive Drop Smash | Student Brief
Drive Drop Smash | Student BriefBadminton England have organised an event to promote their sport to urban young professionals. Their aim is to position the sport as “hip” and “tougher than it looks” in response to the misconception that badminton is easy and therefore not very cool. They hope to persuade young adults who might play other racket sports or go to the gym to give badminton a go instead. The design direction behind this event campaign was to find a visual and engaging way to show how tough badminton really is. Simple dots and lines are used to depict the various physical aspects of the sport, in hopes of drawing in the viewer to want to learn more.
  • Corsica Tourism Identity | Student Brief
Corsica Tourism Identity | Student BriefThe tourism board of the island of Corsica is undergoing a rebrand and has decided to focus on targeting young adventure-seeking travellers. The new logo centres on showcasing what Corsica has to offer in terms of its landscape, but beyond this, it emphasises the idea of layers. The notion of countless stories from Corsica’s history being sown into the relatively unchanging land.
  • Hackney Report | Student Brief
Hackney Report | Student BriefHackney council commissioned a community report aimed at the people of Hackney, specifying that it should have an “editorial feel.” The direction behind the look and feel of the layout and image treatment throughout the report centres around two key ideas: Edge—the idea of Hackney being on the fringe of the city centre; and Against the Grain—showcasing Hackney as a truly unique and nonconformist borough.
  • Petri | Student Brief
Petri | Student BriefPetri is a unique music player app with the special function of creating song mash ups. The inspiration for the app’s name and look came from science – the idea of chemical reactions and growing cultures in petri dishes being illustrative of the idea of combining songs. Icons are inspired by scientific imagery such as test tubes, science beakers, atoms and DNA. Tone of voice is playful to attract a younger crowd, with references to biology to entice the more academic music lovers.
  • Take Five | Student Brief
Take Five | Student BriefTake Five is an independent brewery whose founders are lovers of obscure movies and all things geeky. They started their brewery in the spirit of catering delicious craft beer to modern day young professional couch potatoes who often opt for staying at home watching movies on the weekend rather than a night out. The first two beers in the range are inspired by old B movies of the 1950s and 60s, but with a fun, modern feel. Each beer comes with a story about how the specific beer helped save the day from their respective threats. Presenting – “Attack of the Pink Robots IPA” and “Wrath of the Amoeba Pale Ale.”
