Over the last 5 years I have been doing consultancy work within the Media Industry, large and small, far and wide; this included projects such as The Clothes Show, Spirit of London Awards and the Golden Joystick Awards. These projects have given me the practical experience that university could not have given me. My last position was Production Manager at Brooklyn Bowl in the O2 Arena. This gave me the opportunity to gain real hands-on experience with large scale events, catering for at least 1000 people and be solely responsible for the run through from booking to end of show; I was responsible for creating the correct vibe every day and night depending on what was on including lighting, music and general aesthetics; liasing with the catering and production companies and working with the likes of Preservation Hall, Example, Mastercard, Nat West, Stella McCartney, Saatchi & Saatchi and Pharrell to name a few. I am now looking to take this experience into projects with greater scope and more possibilities and to continue working within the Events Industry in Management or Project Management.
In my own time, I have enjoyed building up a cult following over the last 8 years for an eclectic music showcase, called Rumpus - each event has at least 700 attendees. Also freelancing at Southbank Centre and working closely with acts such as Alejandro Toledo (music for Sherlock Holmes Films) Andy Smith and The Correspondents to name a very few. I also work very closely with a Circus Troop, have a weekly radio show and help manage a band called North of Ping Pong.
