The incredible impact of the arts surrounds us everyday. I believe everyone should have access to the arts. They can be the source of social change, they can enhance the ordinary, they can help tell and re-tell stories creatively. You can see this is everything from the power of arts education programs to a clever campaign that catches you off-guard with a pressing social issue. At work and in my personal life, I enjoy the infinite ways that the arts can alter and enhance the world we live in.
Steered the growth of all marketing and communications to recruit young musicians, music teachers, sell tickets to concerts, promote fundraising events and raise awareness of the youth symphony’s community programs based on SDYS’ mission to make music education accessible and affordable for all. Managed the creation of all marketing materials from copywriting through to publication including website, social media, enewsletters, promotional videos, advertising, printed collateral and press communications. Led the implementation of communications strategies for conservatory, community and partnership programs through collaborative leadership of internal managers and external contractors. Analysed and presented results of campaigns to staff and board members. Reported to the Director of External Relations and worked directly with the President and CEO on national communications. Majority of achievements were self-taught and resulted in job growth from Assistant to Coordinator.
