My friends, colleagues and clients know me for my warm, positive presence and the huge amount of energy and passion I bring to any project. I am a creative person who thrives upon dreaming up unique concepts and delivering them into reality.
Having excelled in roles from Editor to Creative Copywriter and Cultural Programmer, these always combine my flair for writing and artistic spirit with my strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. I have an instinct for generating ideas which resonate with a desired audience, and highlighting issues in a way which truly engages people.
In 2012, I founded The Light Lodge, my small yet successful wellbeing business, which I run on a part-time basis. In addition, I enjoy contracts which enable me to exploit my skills and experience in copywriting, creative content and marketing. Sometimes these spheres of interest cohere. For instance, I am invited by companies such as Patternity or Undercurrent to design and host Mindfulness workshops which foster creativity.
As for my own projects, I have a Masters in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, specializing in Poetry. My work tends to focus upon the interrelation of self and environment, and so speaks to the timely genre of eco-poetry. This intensive period of writing, editing and participating in workshops brought a fresh clarity to my style and led me to make bolder experiments with language, enabling me to hone a distinctive voice.
My portfolio also contains short stories, flash fiction, creative essays and features on music, fashion, culture and lifestyle. Having edited three magazines, I've enjoyed the privilege of interviewing a vibrant cast of artists and thinkers, such as Jon Snow, Lady GaGa, Idris Elba, Dita Von Teese, Little Mix, Goldie, Ian Brown, Dizzee Rascal, Howard Marks and many more. I am comfortable interviewing celebrities, liaising with managers and managing contributors. Further, my flair for marketing has powered me to win brand partnerships with the likes of L'Oreal, Peroni, Fred Perry, G-Star and Puma.
Above all, I love to balance my ability for deeply focused creative work with my outgoing personality and sociable nature. I am able to thrive whilst working independently yet also enjoy collaborating with others. I am passionately committed to producing and promoting culture which is underpinned by an urgent message, or is simply so strangely beautiful that it stirs and awakens us.
