I am a passionate designer with 9 years experience. I have extensive experience in print design and have moved into digital media design in recent years, having embarked on a 2 1/2 year part-time masters in Creative Digital Media. I efficiently manage my time and stay calm while working under pressure; I even would go as far to say I work better under pressure. I have proved myself to be a good communicator with excellent technical skills and the ability to transfer my skills to any brief.
The RTÉ Guide is the top selling magazine in Ireland. It is a weekly publication which has 50 years of being a household name. My responsibilities are: • Designing creative layouts from week to week • Design of the cover every second week. • Redesign of the new lifestyle pages so that they are eye catching and modern but also do not look different to the design of the magazine at present. • Working closely with the editorial teams to develop and maintain the magazine’s style • Maintaining a strong vision for the magazine • Designing supplements • Design refreshing for features from week to week
Award winning Harmonia has a strong stable of consumer magazines - Irish Tatler, U Magazine, Woman’s Way, Food&Wine, Diarmuid Gavin’s Garden Designs, Eat out and Auto Ireland - and a significant contract publishing division for some of the best known companies in Ireland. As designer: • I floated on a number of projects. I worked with the art director on each of the consumer magazines. • I also worked on most of the contract jobs which varied from the publications mentioned previously • I designed any contract jobs, such as brochures, adverts, logos and direct mail. • I maintained the content of the website www.ivenus.com

Smurfit Kappa Display is a leading point of purchase supplier to both UK and Irish markets. As a designer; • I worked in an extremely busy Art Department, efficiently managed and coordinated design production from concept through to completion. • I worked closely with another graphic designer, two structural designers and also the sales staff to create vision concept designs and consistently meet all types of deadlines. • I successfully translated subject matter into creative designs for a wide range of products which were all structurally and graphically designed and printed within the factory. As a result I have an in-depth knowledge of the print industry and all print processes. An important part of my work was the ability to produce 3D images from limited design concepts in order to sell a product to a client before it has been produced.
