About me
Hi, I'm Lydia! I am an experienced Screen Printing Technician. Skilled in Adobe Suite CS6, Microsoft Office, Print, Photography, Film and Textiles. I am a highly motivated maker and creative thinker with an enthusiastic attitude towards idea generation. As an organised individual I love to manage my time effectively. I have a strong work ethic and I am in my prime when hands-on, whether it be in an individual project or as a part of a team. I love to bounce off the creative environment around me, constantly developing my skills, thriving in social situations. I take a proactive and flexible approach to any task. Sustainability and materials are two qualities that I highly consider throughout my work. I have achieved a 1st Class BA Hons Degree in Design at Goldsmiths, University of London, 2018.

  • Spindled Stories
Spindled StoriesSpindled Stories is a celebratory system that uses the spindle as a key tool in revitalising our everyday discarded hair, from the hair-brush to spinning it into wool.  The spindle begins a lifetime ritual of preservation, allowing us to value our hair more when on this cross-cultural device. This spindled hair then can be crafted back into an object that reflects one’s self, with the help of the formula booklet, which can predict how much hair you can spin in a month. This reusable material has longevity past the head and brings us to ask: 'If you had a lifetime's worth of hair spun into wool, what would you make and why? Who would you pass it down to in your Will'? Third Year BA Design Project.
  • Courgette 2000
Courgette 2000It was the year 2017, the courgette crisis was threatening to continue for months and shoppers were not coping well with the shortage. This encouraged the panicked public to turn towards the Society of Endangered Vegetables. An enthused a team of Courgateers invented an alchemist object pushing the boundaries of science, creating a process for turning gold into courgettes, named the CORE-JET 2000. The launch of this machine was a hundred years later in February 2117, at the annual Goldsmiths Para-physical Conference. Through drawing and splicing protein sequences from courgette DNA they were able to programme this into the CORE-JET 2000. Inside the CORE-JET 2000 the process was carefully calculated which systematically analysed gene regulation. Gold was fed in one side, the correct input to output dial ratio set then exiting the machine would be a perfect 2017 courgette. This was a revolution to the once courgetteless world. 1 week Rapid Response project at University.
  • Hope
HopeHope, the forefront word for the live breif set by the Innovation Hub. This project involved reaching out to the Lambeth Community, encouraging story telling, creating a vechicle of optimism and building collective hope. The mission was to use craft tp break down social barriers, creat relationships and allow individuals to express their stories both verbally and artistically. Giving hope back to the Lambeth community through workshops. These workshops were held at Brixton Soup Kitchen where we worked closely with Solomon to share crafts and investigate the surroundings of brixton, particualrly focusing on Southwyck House.
