Working with the Archive team to Archive art work using Calm Archiving software.
Managing the general rolls of the climbing centre and working with all ages and abilities to teach climbing in a safe and fun environment, showcasing the sport and its benefits. Sessions include teaching safety, communication and good climbing or belaying practice for all participants. Assisting by giving advice and coaching to improve climbing techniques with a variety of exercises and games. I also manage the safety of the centre floor and ensure that safe climbing practice is being used, opening up communication for better practice and discussion on different techniques, equipment and use. I am also working towards my Climbing Wall Award qualification.
The aim of this project was to showcase the creative potential of archives and special collections at FXPlus. The collection I was investigating was the Nick Darke Archive, one of Cornwall’s best-celebrated playwrights. This collection contains notebooks along with promotional materials, correspondents, scripts and works for his plays. The outcome of this project comes in a form of a game of exploration into the Archive.
Client based project at Falmouth University working with the Craftivist Collective. The project was inspired by the campaign 'Keep Your Kool' at Falmouth University in order to reduce and ban bottled water on campus. This job required me to participate in the running of events over the summer period for children aged 8-15. Events are run with different themes from understanding the local wildlife to events that follow a story and characters. I have the ability to be organised and problem solve when working on children’s events and on sites within the nature reserves. I have also been trained in using social media to promote the teams work and nature reserves. I also worked in a team of staff and volunteers completing essential conservation work on the nature reserve. Being observant and accurate with data gathered on patrols to ensure that the nature reserves are safe for the public as well as for the environment and wildlife.
I was able to take a brief and produce a presentation for the design team with in the given time. Producing a Car Interior and exterior for a Range Rover Evoque using PhotoShop. I am able to do market research to produce a suitable collection of designs for the target audience.
I specialise in mixed media making my work very adaptable and experimental with materials and processes. The environment, community and outdoor adventures inspire me. I have also worked with a variety of clients winning briefs with projects for the Craftivist Collective and FXPlus Falmouth and Exeter University Archive.
