Over the last 20 years I’ve concepted ground breaking ads, won awards and campaigned to get more women into creative departments. Before moving to Adland, I was a successful set designer, working with such greats as Derek Jarman, Eddie Izzard and Wayne McGregor. In 2018, after becoming increasingly aware of the extreme ageism in the media industry, I founded ‘The Society of Very Senior Creatives’ to support and celebrate elder creatives working in our industry. As a result of this I was asked to judge the inaugural Cannes Grey Lions in 2019. I’ve written a number of articles for Campaign Magazine, The Marketing Society and several online blogs. I’m a BLOOM member and mentor, a JOLT Academy lecturer, mentor and crit’er and I was a featured 'Lone Star' in the Campaign Annual - Hot in 2018. To create truly powerful ads and write intuitive, insightful copy I believe it helps to have a fair bit of life experience and I’ve got shed loads. Being born with a large port wine stain over the right side of my face meant I learned early on how effective a smile could be, no matter how wonky. I also learned that my unusual appearance was a great way of weeding out the wankers. So, I lifted my head high and looked the world in the eye. I danced on podiums in Japan and bathed with elephants in Nepal. I jumped out of a plane at 13,000 feet and climbed to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. I ran around London Zoo in my birthday suit and walked the catwalk in rubber. I proposed to my husband, went through several rounds of IVF to make my gorgeous little girl and kicked the shite out of breast cancer. So, if you want a woman of the world to add a little sparkle to your team, someone who can’t resist a challenge, who gets excited about new possibilities, who really loves writing and who smiles, probably a little too much, get in touch.Locked Pro Plan feature
I’ve spent the last year working freelance at various agencies where my ideas have won pitches and my copy has won over clients. I have also written a number of articles for Campaign Magazine, The Marketing Society and various lifestyle and business blogs. More recently I have been a speaker on diversity panels discussing ageism in the industry.
