About me
I am a reliable, motivated and enthusiastic person. I am always looking for opportunities to continuously improve my skills and drive my development.
I have a BA (Hons) Business and Psychology degree, receiving a 2:1; however, I have always had an interest in working in a more creative industry.
I have worked a PR intern with Olivia Rubin London; this involved contacting publications regarding press opportunities, assisting preparations for a press day for A/W12 collection, trend and promotion research and managing press samples. Previously I have completed a fashion PR intern at Sam Forest PR. During this time I developed my administrative skills, telephone skills and use of Microsoft programmes. My main responsibilities included; replying and liaising with clients via email, over the telephone and face-to-face, delivering samples to press companies, creating and editing databases and organising and filing documents. I was involved in the organisation of a new designers show at 'Vauxhall Fashion Scout' part of London Fashion Week. I contacted potential attendees and assisted in creating a guest list and at the show actively participated in assuring a smooth running of the event.
I have several years of fashion retail experience progressing to my current position as to team leader within a large, busy high street store, as I enjoy being proactive and taking on more responsibility to have a more varied and challenging role. This role involves; customer service (face-to-face and via the telephone), supporting managers in the day-to-day running of the store, managing the team members, delegating tasks and acting as a communicator between management and staff, for example preparing the daily figures and daily news/feedback/best sellers for team briefing. I have been involved in recruitment and training of staff. I have managed departments within the store, currently I manage the non-clothing departments, responsible for making commercial decisions by analysing reports to meet weekly targets, visual merchandising and stock management.
I have administrative skills from previous internship positions; I am competent using various Microsoft programmes, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I would appreciate any necessary training for the position. I have excellent communication skills from working with and managing a large team.
