I’m a freelance writer based in London. I’ve been a contributing editor for Mr & Mrs Smith and a beauty blogger for the Guardian. I’m as happy editing sparkling copy for brochures, websites and newsletters as I am writing up foodie hot spots for magazines.Locked Pro Plan feature
I'm an experienced and versatile writer and editor who's as comfortable working on engaging commercial copy as on attention-grabbing magazine articles. I’m curious about a lot of things, but travel, design and culture are what genuinely excite me. I’ve worked with a number of high-profile companies, including Mr & Mrs Smith, the Guardian, Elle Belgique and the Sunday Times Travel Magazine. Recent projects have included testing out foodie haunts in Bordeaux for Eurostar’s Metropolitan magazine, contributing to Elle Belgique‘s 2017 hotel guide, crafting newsletters for Swing Patrol London, writing up new hotel launches for Mr & Mrs Smith and editing design PR agency Zetteler's blog.
I was the co-editor of this popular “beauty blog for idiots” hosted by the Guardian. I set the editorial tone and direction for the blog, which had more than 700,000 page views in its year on the platform. I conceived and wrote beauty features, running the gamut from detox diet reviews to Game of Thrones makeovers. I kept an eye on comments below the line as well as Facebook and Twitter. I liaised with PRs to keep abreast of new launches and developments, and built relationships with cosmetic brands.
I was part of the editorial team at this well-known travel company specialising in boutique hotels. My duties included writing content, sub-editing and maintaining a social media presence on all the company's channels. I wrote hotel descriptions and reviews, destination guides, restaurant recommendations, advertorial features and press pieces, as well as competition and newsletter copy. I also contributed regularly to the Mr & Mrs Smith and Smith & Family blogs with first-hand accounts of hotel visits, insider interviews, hotel round-ups and new launches.
