Hello, I’m Mair and I’ve been making pictures since I could hold a crayon but I’ve been running my animation and illustration business since 2010 and established the company in 2012.
I’ve always been interested in telling stories, sharing knowledge and problem solving through images. My speciality is character focused explainer animations where I work with clients to develop characters and scenarios to tell a story that communicates their message.
Over the years, I’ve worked on all sorts of projects but I’m particularly passionate about sustainability and the environment, education and both physical and mental health. I love the idea that awareness can be raised and positive change can be made through visual storytelling. I’ve won some awards related to this too.
As a hands on, independent creative business owner, I’m experienced with idea generation, script writing, storyboarding, art direction, character design, illustration, animation production and all the project management, communication and organisational stuff that goes with that.
Not only do I thoroughly enjoy working on the artistic, technical and management parts of projects but clients are able to deal directly with the creative person producing their project. On occasion I hire other talented, local folk on a per project basis mostly for script writing assistance, voice overs, music production and sound effects.

- We All Have Mental Health – Teaching Resource AnimationThis animation about mental health was made with The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. The short film was produced as part of teacher's toolkit to use in classes to raise awareness and encourage discussion about mental health among secondary school students aged 11 - 14. Young people were involved at the animation concept stage through school workshops and were able to review and feedback into each production stage of the project. - Veruna Water Purification - AnimationThis animation was made in my own time for learning and skill development. I wanted to try some new techniques in a cinematic, painterly visual style and create a portfolio piece to demonstrate this style. I also wanted to try out some more frame by frame animation and try mixing some 3D into my 2D work.
- Eye Promise EZ Tears - Explainer AnimationEye Promise are an eye vitamin company with a mission to fight vision loss and preserve healthy vision. The USA based company hired me to create an explainer animation and a 15 second You Tube advert for their product, EZ Tears which are vitamins to help relieve dry eyes.
