I am a creative and dedicated individual who enjoys new challenges and I have been involved in several film productions and projects. I have previously studied film as part of my MA in Fiction Film Production at the University of Salford and also as part of my BA (HONS) Film Studies Degree at Edge Hill University. I am now looking for permanent employment within a production company in order to make the most of my extensive range of skills. In addition to this I am an avid writer and have written several short and feature length scripts, something that is a passion of mine. I also have my own film blog called ‘square-eyed-geek’ on which I regularly post film reviews. I am also a committed director and recently directed a short called 'To Look and Not See' through the Film Futures project at First Take, a film that was screened as part of the CNKY Film Festival in November. In addition to this I am passionate about working behind the camera and I hope to be involved in more productions as a DOP in the future.
Selling Assistant: Working on the shop floor to merchandise any fashions stock. Floor walking to assist any customers that might have any queries or problems. Serving on the tills and correctly carrying out transactions and helping with shop floor recovery. Setting up orders of items for customers and also deliveries.
Intern for Liverpool Live TV. Working on various shoots of acoustic musical sessions and events as a Camera Operator and Production Assistant, including LLTV’s ‘Red Sofa Sessions’. Also working in their office and researching various funding bids, keeping a record of them in a database, as well as contacting the companies running them to see if their projects would be suitable for the funding. In addition I updated and co-ordinated their social media to gain more public interest in the company.
Work as Production Manager for Ace Film on their most recent film My Lonely Me. I oversaw the production from the initial stages, finding and booking locations and cast. I also worked intensely throughout the shoot, co-ordinating cast, crew, the art and costume departments so that everyone knew what was happening on set and when. I also worked as 1st AD during the shooting of the film, ensuring that each day ran smoothly and according to schedule. In addition to this I worked as a Script and Continuity Supervisor, making sure that everything that needed to be filmed was and that the dialogue was filmed as it has been written in the script. I also carried out various admin tasks in the office, such as sorting out travel expenses and keeping up-to-date with any actor contracts and crew release forms.
Voluntary work on a short film called Saturday. I worked for three days as a Production Co-Ordinator, taking care of the cast and crew and helping provide props to locations and co-ordinate getting cast to and from set. I also worked as a Script Supervisor and 3rd AD for several days, assisting the 2nd and 1st AD during filming.
Voluntary work with Hurricane Films. I worked as a Production Assistant and Script and Continuity supervisor for the short film Saffron. I also worked in the office on a daily basis, working on reception and answering any calls, as well as reading scripts sent to the company and writing detailed reports on them in order to decide which had the potential to be produced. I also helped market their film Under The Mud by contacting schools across the UK, offering them the chance to participate in film workshops. I also helped to make a short film called My War for an exhibition in FACT Liverpool for which we interviewed people about their first-hand war experiences. In addition to this I researched any funding bids that the company could apply for.
