An adaptable and responsible post grad seeking a position in a dynamic customer focused field which will utilise the organisational and communication skills. During my Marketing Communications degree I successfully combined my studies with work and other commitments showing myself to be self-motivated, organised and capable of working under pressure. My communication skills and positive attitude make it easy for me to relate to people and they also make me a good team player. I am seeking a career in a field that would allow me to utilise my skills gained trough education and previous work experience. I love midcentury and when I'm not out exploring the city I spend most of my free time cooking, baking and photographing everything I cook and bake.
My day to day tasks include interacting with customers and making sure they feel welcomed and taken care of, taking orders, also making sure that they are constantly satisfied with the food and the service. I deal with all sorts of problems that appear during the dinner service and make sure that the service runs smoothly. I am also in charge of the restaurant’s overall offline profile and online presence, updating Facebook posts, creating promotions and advertising materials, keeping in touch with local publications/websites, as well as finding events to take part in.
My internship here was quite varied but it mainly focused on Web Content Management. I was responsible of assisting the E-commerce Manager with everyday tasks, learning how to deal with customers and online purchases and how to solve different problems that would arise (wrong orders, faulty products, returns). I also contributed with ideas towards developing the social media platforms, I have assisted the warehouse team during sample sales and busy weeks and ran daily admin tasks.
During my internship at twentytwentyone, I was responsible of updating the company’s online shop and learned how to use Drupal to manage the content, editing item photos, calculating prices. My daily tasks consisted of writing short descriptions for each product, finding the best photo and lifestyle shot for a certain product. I have also got acquainted with the array of product features and attributes, got a better understanding of stock and purchase orders and how to organise a social media calendar. This internship thought me to be better organised, better time keeping and how to use the software necessary for maintaining and updating a online store. During my internship I’ve learned to be more organised, especially time-wise, mostly because while attending the internship 3 times a week (full day), I also held two other jobs.
My main responsibility was the research of furniture designers, drafting newsletters and expanding the database, finding newsworthy stories for the company’s blogs, PR, assisting at Midcentury Modern’s Shows, drafting new ways of promoting the website and the shows. I also update Facebook and Twitter pages. Assisted and helped with events such as The Midcentury Modern Show at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the Midcentury Modern Pop-up at designjunction (part of Design Week) , Midcentury Modern at Erno Goldfinger’s Haggerston School, and Midcentury Modern at Dulwich College.
