Hello!
My name is Maria Ricart Roig, born in 1994 in Barcelona and grown in El Figaró. After studying the technological baccalaureate and knowing my innate interest for products, communication and photography, I knew Design was my vocational profession.
Graduated in Product Design at Elisava University in Barcelona, I have had the opportunity of understanding design form different point of views. This has allowed me to have a global vision about design, understanding it as a whole from the poetry of the concept to the materialization of the function.
The product is what makes the difference but the brand is what makes it unique. Both elements need to talk the same language so as it can be recognised by the user as an indivisible.

Projects
- Ka-BaThis project presents a new concept in the way we understand the objects that surround death. Specifically, those that aim to keep the ashes of the deceased. Ka-Ba is not only an object, it is a system that allows the partition of the ashes for those who have lost someone, while keeping a material reference of the deceased. Using a square as the shape of each piece, the ashes are mixed with ceramic and then pressed to create a tile. The result is a set of resistant tiles that keeps a little piece of memory in each of them. The design bears in mind that the death of someone is always surrounded with feelings and respect, the object is tender and give the ashes a respectful and peaceful treatment during all the process. http://cargocollective.com/mariaricart/KA-BA
