- Boat Harbour house - New Zealand - 2015Boat Harbour concept resume intervention its based in a narrative where the site constraints/specificities and the client’s needs/desires come together in a hole strategic approach. Functional needs dictates de building strategic conception that born from a rational principle, where technical/water areas, and living areas are separated by a circulation path, but unified in the interior. This rational construction strategy its enlarged to the hole building conception who intends to benefit from the site specificities. On the other hand this beautiful site carries the perfect issues to build a dream house where nature and construction come together in a unique concept. From the vertical and organic influence of the trees and the horizon line born the concept that dictates the building formality. The building is placed oriented north to benefit the beautiful view from all interior spaces and receive the maximum sun light. So north window are larger and set back so in the summer be protected and in the winter receive the sun light.
- "The overlaid city" - Porto - 2013The overlapped city is a structural green urban community organism that carries the responsibility to regenerate Oporto’s center. Defined trough foot way interior headquarter paths, this structural grid is the city antidote and hosts, low cost housing, urban labs services, trade and intends to create a new mobility associated to the existent public gardens. The “Aurifícia” headquarter regeneration, ruled by a global strategic intervention plan, was the case study for the concepts development. Besides the interior headquarter regeneration, this intervention should include the obsolete “Aurificia” factory rehabilitation and the renewal of the city productive machine, in order to establish a more efficient, fair, and open urban structure in the pursuit for better living conditions. The dialogue with the existent city has created the opportunity to formulate the barriers between domains and to link the territory different parts.
- “2 de Maio” square rehabilitation - Viseu - Portugal - 2015The purpose of designing a new covering element in this public space triggered the discussion about the attractability of the contemporary public spaces . The main idea associated to this project was to provide a new space multi functionality able to content various and diverse events throughout the year, inviting people of all ages and social strata. The existing fracture between the two levels of the square was the motto for the proposal idealization. So two hierarchical elements were designe
- Selective waste equipment - Portugal - 2012Above any ideal or value, the principle of inclusive design, ensure the urban democratic space value prevails beyond any drawing fetish. However, formal expression is the visible expression of ideas, so it has the necessary strength to achieve its purpose. “Bolix” emerges as a friendly character, good deal, someone to build links... These friendly characters intends to express their human similarity and are specifically colored to be easily distinguished . The idea is to increase the access to older, disable and color-blind people by their formal composition and association to new mobile technology. So when you arrive “Bolix” calls your name and seduces you to recycle. If you look at the screen you can see how much you have been recycling this month. You may win several prizes! Keep on!
- Setubal Library - Setubal - Portugal - 2013As the surrounding analysis result a bipolar body as born. Divided by different ambitions a ground floor organism carries a green living pixel box. Named as “Teka” this organism is a human proximity seducer and have a particular face that strategically invites people to the building entrance. The building location search for intimacy against the most noisy and busy via and draws an urban path, place for urban markets ,artistic and cultural temporary events. The interior space is divided in two. The ground floor where are located the administrative, storage and the public spaces and the first and interstitial floor where is located the reading room.The reading room is in fact a box inside the main box , and works like a protection for the books ,releasing the adjacent areas to the reading tables benefiting from increased exposure to light and views over the city.
