Mariska Mulder is a 23-year-old visual artist hailing from The Netherlands. With a background in graphic design, she decided to continue studying art in the direction of photography at the Willem De Kooning Academy Rotterdam where she is currently doing her third year. She's had an eye for conversations happening and hiding in plain sight since her first time picking up her gifted camera at the age of sixteen and hasn't let go of that since. That's not to say that that's her only fascination within photography though, as she is venturing out to new grounds with her camera in a bid to get to know herself better through others. Her 'People Are Just Stars' series sees her navigate acceptance and contentment for her acne and forming connections with people who all experience different skin conditions. Seeking to normalise what are already normal faces but aren't often presented as such. Furthermore, she's hoping to go on internship upcoming February to gain the work field experience she needs in order to truly be able to take the lead into her own hands.
