About me
After graduating Mark began writing and directing in professional theatre. Not long after two of his productions gained national media attention, Mark was invited to join communications agency Imagination, where – as Creative Head, he delivered groundbreaking work for clients that include; Ford, BT, BA, The Natural History Museum and the children’s museum, Eureka! Mark was then invited to assume Group Creative Directorship at international agency Maritz. Mark added major clients that included: Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Glaxo Smithkline, BT retail and WMI. The communications/creative division became the most profitable division, per-capita, in the organisation. Mark was then approached by internationally renowned brand agency, Wolff Olins to fulfil the role of Senior Strategic and Creative Consultant where he delivered transformative work for clients that included Orange and the City of Berlin. When offered an opportunity to direct the film drama, Breath of Angels, Mark made the decision to work as an independent Creative Director for agencies and commercial clients alongside working as a Writer/Director in theatre, film, television and advertising. As an independent Creative Director Mark has worked for agencies that include: WRG, Jack Morton, Sprout, Mother, INVNT, Pumphouse Productions, Wolff Olins and many others. Clients have included: BT, Openreach, ARM, Nissan, Lexus, GSK, Astra Zeneca, Shell and many others. As a writer director Mark has delivered films, TV programmes and advertising campaigns for production companies that include: The BBC, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Channels 4 and 5, Lion TV, Atlantic Productions and the edge. Mark wrote and directed his first feature film Blessed, starring James Nesbitt and Natascha McElhone. The film was released in the UK and was network broadcast on the BBC. In 2012 Mark was asked to fulfil the role of Strategic Director and Executive Creative Director for the United Nations FCCC COP 18 and other work for international agencies and governments includes: Creative Director for the Qatar Olympic Committee; Creator of Deadline – an award winning culture change programme for HM Gov, focused on Freedom of Information; Creative Director/Writer-Director for the Executive Affairs Authority Abu Dhabi, creating the Festival Stage programme at Qasar Al Hosn Festival 2016 and delivering the EAA 10th Anniversary programme in 2017. In 2017 Mark scripted show sequences for Shawn Mendes' World Stadium Tour and helped a UK agency secure the delivery of the RAF100 London celebrations (2018) and HM Gov Commonwealth Heads of Government summit (2018). In 2018, his concept for the Special Olympics Opening ceremony 2019 was adopted. In 2018/2019 Mark conceived and delivered the award winning internal comms campaign and platform, BEE for The Royal Bank of Scotland. In 2020/21 Mark helped a UK-based agency secure the delivery of the G7 Summit in Cornwall and COP Glasgow Mark has won numerous awards including Gold IVCAs, Gold ITMAs, Chicago and New York Festival gold awards.
