About me
Hi, I'm Mark, a multi-awarded, Senior Creative. Probably best known for my work on "The Great Cover Up" - a campaign which read between the lines, sparked furious debate throughout South Africa, pick up an award and all by using only a pair of scissors and a glue stick. Originally from South Africa, I've spent some 14 years perfecting my craft, working in big name agencies (TBWA, FCB, and Ogilvy). I’ve also been fortunate to work in three major cities, namely London, Johannesburg and Tel Aviv. This unique experience has allowed me to gather global experience as well as a great understanding as to what works and possibly, even more importantly, what doesn't not work within these regions. For 5 years I was deeply entrenched in the NIVEA world of blue. I know the in’s and out’s of this prestigious Beiersdorf brand. I led multi-disciplinary campaigns for the EMEA and SADC regions, sourcing and directing; photographers; directors and models for these campaigns as well as working with the global agencies for FCB and Jung Von Matt. My experience is not only limited to the Beiersdorf umbrella, I’ve also creatively worked on and been part of pitch teams to win brands such as Coca Cola, Cell C & Patrón Tequila. Been lucky enough to work on multiple car brands (Subaru, Jeep, Nissan and Alfa to name a few). As well as shot with Miss Universe Rolene Strauss, music legend Jack Parrow and the entire Natal Sharks team.

    Nivea Sun - Paint by NumberContext: During the summer, thousands of families head to the coast to spend their vacation on the beaches of South Africa. Problem: Many people don’t take into consideration how harsh & dangerous the summer sun can be. Idea: To give children colouring-in-books but only supplying them with crayons that have shades of red. When they colour in the images parents become aware of the harsh realities of sun exposure.
