Award-winning actor and talented matte painter Mark N Tompkins was born on January 16, 1975 in Vancouver, Canada. At the age of five, his family moved to Staten Island, New York City.
This highly acclaimed actor decided to pursue an acting career after he enrolled at The City College of New York at the Department of Chemistry. Here he learned that acting is and has always been his biggest aspiration. So after his first semester, Mark N Tompkins left chemistry for good and turned towards the entertainment industry.
His early beginning in NYC was mostly connected to theatre plays, and later off-Broadway shows. It was in fact at one of these performances that a scout agent noticed Mark N Tompkins and recognized his talent. The young painter offered to sign a contract for acting and after two months he got his first role in a TV Series. The series went on for three seasons and helped the emerging actor get out of his shell.
By the end of the 90's, Mark N Tompkins already had dozen TV series appearances and a few minor roles in mostly independent movies. In 1999 he finally had his big break when he was cast in one of the leading roles for a Hollywood blockbuster. Since then, he has played a wide array of memorable roles, and has been awarded with four Tony awards and two Emmy nominations.
