Mark Nagy-Mihaly is a junior furniture designer. He graduated in 2017 at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest. He is from a city at south of Hungary, Szeged where he was selected to a special 6 year mathematics specialization at high school. Then he went to Budapest University of Technology and Economics and tried out several fields of engineering to get to know how the world goes on. He started to deal with design in 2013 and within a year his RETURN lamp was selected to the Istambul Book Fair. He really likes sipmle gestures and geometric forms in design, though he believs that the complex and honest thinking and the detailed work can lead to this. As he says: "Design is about forms and functions and a lot of things but mainly about finding the goodness in general."

The programme aims at forming a professional approach to design and developing an intellectual – economically and socially conscious – attitude open to new ideas and critical thinking. The bachelor level training programme in Product Design provides students with basic professional practical skills and a theoretical background for designing an object or a service. The problem-oriented and research-based MA programme, however, offers training to meet the newest challenges of design and business in three specialisations: furniture design, product design and vehicle design. The MA programme in Product Design focuses on issues related to the economic, cultural and environmental aspects and interrelations of globalisation, the local and global questions of sustainability. Solutions are hiding in design research, in which it is the quality of approach, a more elevated and complex level of thinking that is fundamental and not the product or object itself. Thus, the objectives of the MA programme are design-ethical way of thinking, development of a local/global, social/cultural attitude along with the reinforcement of a sense of professional responsibility.

The Mechanical Engineering Bachelors programme provides a well-grounded and broad education that graduates can apply immediately in their work and also use as the basis for further studies.
The course not only creates competent engineers who are masters of their profession, but also promotes an ethical philosophy of engineering based on accuracy, punctuality and reliability as well as a respect for the human element.
