Having run both a busy in house studio and a small business I am uniquely placed to understand the intricacies of the creative business. With a strong foundation working from a junior position through to a directorship I have gained high levels of experience, working as a Graphic Designer / Creative in many business sectors. With a full working knowledge of industry standard software and a complete understanding of the creative process from concept through to delivery, I can manage all elements of a project. From hands on design and artwork to briefing and inspiring other designers and artworks to deliver, I am also comfortable presenting to and working with clients as well as driving suppliers and service providers.
Lead Designer and Creative Director to a small design agency based in South East London.
Short term contract which entailed a general graphic design role. Working on brochures, catalogues and large format design and production.
Responsible for: The company's corporate brand and visual communications across the board including; Marketing Material, Events, Technical Publications and the Company's Web Sites. With a good understanding of the company's products and detailed technical information, this role involves creating clear and concise operative manuals and brochures, yet still maintaining a strong sales and marketing feel. Managing a team of designers on both long term projects and day-to-day tasks, including delegating specific tasks to members of the team whose skills can best meet the challenge presented. The planning of projects from initial brief through to implementation and final production. With a company that is growing at a very fast pace, not only in the UK but also on an international level, the task of maintaining a strong and cohesive brand and corporate identity has become crucial element of this role. Therefore liaising with offices in Europe, America and Australia and supplying them with the necessary information and files, is needed in order to control the company's corporate image. Exhibition and event project management has become a key component of this role with Finsbury; developing concepts, planning and managing through to final build and breakdown. Building relationships with external contractors and suppliers to maintain cost-effective solutions.
