About me
A recent graduate student that previously worked a freelance journalist doing copy and music critiques and reviews for various media outlets. Currently looking for work that relates to the media sector using my journalism background as well as my the tools I've learned from my Masters program in Media and Business. These relate to brand management, new media transformations, digitization, and media innovation. My thesis focused on how Dutch electronic music label managers or owners centralized in Rotterdam and Amsterdam see authenticity in the past and present industry, as well as how they it is maintained, conformed, and negotiated in the world around them (social space, cultural production, commercially, and independently). These were all independent labels but varied in reputation, size, and notoriety such as DGTL Records, Tar Hallow, Dekmantel, Delsin, Triphouse Rotterdam, and many more.
Projects
  • Adapting the Detroit Historical Society Annual Report
Adapting the Detroit Historical Society Annual ReportThese two spreads represent a project that was meant to inform backers of the DHS. By exploring more modern graphic design and typography elements, the brief of this annual report tried to liven up what was initially a supremely standard and lukewarm looking report.
  • Rockwell Typeface Imagining
Rockwell Typeface ImaginingA project revolved around the Rockwell typeface. This font has a robust and dinstinct feel, something I wanted to emphasize when doing this project. All font uses some form of Rockwell as its history and deconstruction is shown page by page.
