About me
American/Cuban rising-star photographer, Marlene Marino began taking photographs as a teenager in rural Virginia.
Her first exhibition was in 1996 at American Fine Arts, New York under the curatorship of the late art dealer and visionary, Colin De Land. Having studied art and philosophy in New York, Marino continued to develop and shape her photography practice.
Fulfilling her aim to eloquently express through visual narrative, Marino captures poetic scenes experienced in private, everyday moments as well through a colorful, characterful world of adventures.
Marino is a regular contributor to Dazed & Confused, AnOther, Purple, Apartamento and Paradis magazines. Marino has also directed short films for Nowness and Dazed.
She is currently working on a book of her work with the art book publisher, Rizzoli.
