I assist with a range of administrative duties such as managing social media accounts, updating the database and archiving press.
I met the high expectations set out by the iconic store by providing excellent customer service. Working primarily in the wine and spirits department, it was vital to have a good knowledge of products in order to deal with a range of enquiries.
During this internship I assisted with administrative duties in preparation for the upcoming auctions in Scottish silver, contemporary art and rare books. Duties included checking databases, carrying out market research and setting up the saleroom.
Conversing in both English and French, I relayed crucial safety information, communicated with various European motoring clubs and negotiated with garages in assisting motorists who had broken down abroad.
As part of my university course I worked as a language assistant and taught a wide range of ages (11-22). I regularly adapted my lessons and techniques to meet individual needs and found the experience immensely enjoyable and one that called for planning and improvisation in equal measure.
In 2014 I had my work on the subject of contemporary Francophone literature submitted on behalf of my university for the Gapper Essay Prize, a competition run by the Society for French Studies.
A short collaborative film that I produced was screened at the Barbican and the BFI as part of the Future Film Festival.
