Super Cool Illustrator, Artist, Life Model & Shop ManagerCambridge, United Kingdom
About me
Illustrator, artist, shop manager, life model, possible workaholic located in the idyllic city of Cambridge. A product of the 90s with an ingrained fondness for sludgy guitars, wrestling theatrics and low poly video games, taking visual cues from the three Hs (Haring, Hergé and Hewlett). Championing the innocent and aggressor, creating original characters bedecked with shapes, scribbles and type, showcased predominantly through the medium of poster. Fusing bold colours with lo-fi aesthetics, his work has adorned music venues, record sleeves and magazines. Should you need a striking design that oozes cool, Martin would be delighted to assist. martinconwayyy@hotmail.com "Perhaps the most beautiful trapezius i have ever seen" - Derek Batty, 19th September 2017

  • Useless Trinkets - Vol 1
Useless Trinkets - Vol 1Here's a little something I did in an attempt to move away from character lead illustrations and onto something a little more commercial. Titled 'Useless Trinkets', the project focuses on items that at some stage or another have played a prominent role in my life.

I'd thought about drawing a shoe, there's some pretty iconic trainers out there but none resonate to the same extent. Based on the premise the 'shoegaze' genre of music is derived from guitarists spending entire sets fixated on their pedal boards. Hence shoe gazing. And these pedal boards are a thing of beauty. A plethora of gadgets incomprehensible to the uneducated. Bright and playful though predomi

Girl Boy TwoFlicking through some old sketchbooks and decided to finish some old sketches. Scanned them in, played around on photoshop and actually had a lot of fun trying to create something a bit different.
  • Losers, Kings & Things We Don't Understand - Vol 4
Losers, Kings & Things We Don't Understand - Vol 4This is where I finally figured everything out. Started drawing on my lunch breaks, daydreaming at work. Refocused on character design whilst still incorporating text, I become confident that I had found an achievable style, free of time consuming edits. I always liked my music messy and loud, why couldn’t my drawing imitate this? It’s lo-fi and I love it.
