  • arch&edu – exhibition
arch&edu – exhibitionThe main question was: how to exhibit a book with full of text for architects? We denied to show any images and colors that may force the visually overqualified visitors to focus on texts.  How to exhibit a book and give visitors a free source of knowledge while you bookshop of the exhibition space sells the book itself? First of all we decided to show the full process of the year-long research and divided the exhibition hall into two parts: input (books & videos) and output (recorded lectures/discussions and texts). To keep all the images out of the hall, all the books have got a uniformed imageless, black&white cover, and on the opposite wall we are printed and posted all data of the articles (number, author, title, abstract, key words, sources) without images, colors and the texts themselves. The visitors who got interested in any articles can grab a copy of the full text from the cloud which fills the middle of the room (based on the number of the text) or buy the book in the bookshop beside the exhibition hall.
  • arch&edu book
arch&edu bookThe students of the BME Doctoral School of Architecture had written and edited a collection of essays about 'Architecture and Education'. The complete book from articles through editorial design is the work of the current students and their professors. They celebrate the publishing with a self designed and constructed exhibition, see below. The BME Doctoral School of Architecture offers a special doctoral course, for young practicing architects. During the first two years students are focusing on a thematic year-long research (two times), which helps them to learn and practice the common research methods, before the begin their own doctoral research. The compulsory topic of the last year was ‘Architecture & Education’. The doctoral students combined the research of international educational practices with their own experiments (as tutors) to reach a unique, global input based local output. The current book is a summary of the results of the last thematic year, mostly based on the essays and articles of the doctoral students. Divided into five chapters: 1. To Become an Architect; 2. Manual Techniques; 3. Studios and Courses; 4. Communication; 5. Creative Spaces
