About me
I've worked in creative industries for the past five years which has given me valuable insight across a spectrum of; film, television, exhibition design and experiential media. Beginning as a freelancer in television I currently work as an Assistant Producer for interdisciplinary production house Squint/Opera - this cross divisional experience has allowed me to develop a skill set in a production capacity, I'm looking to continue my career in the direction of creative production at a business and management level :-)
Projects
  • Adult Life SkillsWorking on 'Adult Life Skills' as a production runner was my first break into the industry, funded by Creative England the film was directed by BAFTA nominated director Rachel Tunnard and starring Jodie Whittaker. The film gave me great insight into the machinations of on location shoots and how to coordinate with a large mobile team to multiple locations. I worked directly with the Assistant Director and supported the production team as well as the cast. My duties ranged from: - Locking off

My initial break into the industry was on a production titled 'Adult Life Skills' directed by Rachel Tunnard, starring Jodie Whittaker and funded by Creative England. My role was as a location runner which meant my responsibilities covered the typical duties of the role: - locking off during takes - helping load and unload the equipment van - supporting the assistant director - arranging breakfast, lunch and dinner - supporting the production team The project was a great introduction to the industry as it gave me insight into how on location crews work when we have multiple locations to visit. It required a consolidation of team effort and adaptability to conditions - it also put me in a good position of contact with practitioners and professionals who helped me with advice and direction

I studied a BA Degree in Creative Media & Visual Communication which gave me access to industry standard equipment and emphasized practical, industry based development. Throughout this time I experimented in departments and used the University resources to determine that my strengths lay in production and management - whilst at University I worked for a variety of productions working with BBC and ITV initially as experience but later as paid work. University provided the opportunity to financially support myself whilst covering the groundwork of freelance life so that by the time I left I had adequate insight and experience to manage myself as a professional.
