Customer Advisor

B&Q

May 2016 - Dec 2015
  • As a Customer Advisor I had many different responsibilities. My main duty was talking to and advising customers to help them complete their ongoing DIY projects. I was also qualified on the timber saw and would have to cut sheet wood to exact measurements for customers. On weekends I would often have to demostrate how to use power tools as a way of showing customers what the tools could be used for. As well as interacting with customers I had to take care of the aisles, making sure that the shelves were fully stocked and best presented to increase the chance of making sales. This would include making sure that 'best selling' products were always stocked on the shelves and rearranging the bays to account for discontinued items to avoid gaps in the displays. Communicating with customers was key to being successful in this role, whether in person or over the phone. During my time there I was given a Customer Award. The managers awarded this to the person who best interacted and communicated with customers on a daily basis.
