Mau Morgó 1988 - 2015 is a creative director, designer and visual artist focused on creating unique experiences and experimental animation, for brands, festivals and museums around the globe. After working as a designer for award winning studios in Spain he left office life to pursue more work at the intersection of art, technology and emotions; exploring new ways of communication between our digital and physical worlds and investigate the boundaries between disciplines. He has worked with musicians such as A$AP Rocky, FKA Twigs, Spoon, Cut Copy, Little Dragon, Oso Leone and Aphex Twin and brands including Lexus, Samsung, Converse, Ford, Bombay Sapphire, Acer, or Seat. Recently awarded as a Young Guns, by the One Club of Creativity in NYC. At Offf 2015 he staged his own death during his first keynote speech and the same year was awarded Top Emerging talent at Sitges Next Festival for Innovation. His work has been exhibit at: Au Palais de Tokyo (Paris), the New Museum (NYC), and CCCB (Barcelona), and at festivals as Moogfest, Primavera Sound, and Sonar Festival. He never knows what he’s doing.
- Bombay Sapphire, The Art RoomAs soon as you entered in this space, you could see your self reflected and distorted by the mirrors that covered the walls, ceiling, and floor, the lights where flashing at the rhythm of a selfplaying piano, and everyone was having there own ego trip inside this Bombay Sapphire bottle, during Barcelona’s and Madrid’s fashion week .The event happened inside a 1473's church at the center of Barcelona, creating a contrast between technology and heritage.
- 8 Phases for Illumination Au Palais du TokyoIs it posible to meditate through virtual reality? Mixed media art installation showcased at the modern art museum Palais de Tokyo, Paris. The user is pushed into a forced personal enlightenment through different VR experiences and a specific body positions. This experiences started from sensor overload to sensory deprivation, leaving the user in a rare digital meditative state.
- Seat. Created in BarcelonaI directed this ad during one of the wierdest times of life, the sculptures represent mind and body and the human need of moving forward after going through depression. That’s why i’ve decided to do a director’s cut, and shine a light on the different emotional phases and feelings my body and mind have been going through: “The Calling”, “ Acceptance” and “ Awakening”.
