Max is a 2D animator who works both digitally and traditionally. He is passionate about telling compelling narratives with realistic characters’ viewers can relate to. Outside of animation he has worked as a gag cartoonist and caricaturist. He is also the art director for Smashed Vinyl, a platform for musicians and music journalists. Max is constantly looking for the next exciting opportunity, whether it be working as a cartoonist on a zine or performing as a voice actor.
Projects
- Cops and DaughtersI developed Cops and Daughters during my final year of BA (Hons) Animation at Leeds Arts University and completed it in my graduating year. The film shows the life of a young girl named Lucy, spanning from childhood to adulthood in a time-lapse 'esque manner. The background design changes for each of the three stages in Lucy's life to represent her age and maturity. When she is youngest she uses felt-tip pen, then as she gets older this changes to coloured pencil and then watercolour.
