Max Italiaander (1982) aka Maxmana is an Amsterdam based new media artist specializing in motion graphics, live visuals and music videos. Ranging from live action, animation and VR. He likes to take the viewer on adventures through surreal landscapes which pop with sharp, colour block shapes and sci-fi fantasy. His visual style and taste was developed doing Live Visuals in clubs during his formative years, which he has carried through in his work together with bands and artists. Collaboration is an important part of his process, working together with illustrators, photographers, animators and programmers to create unique content. He is also part of Amsterdam based interactive new media art collective Zesbaans from the beginning in 2007 and took part in many of their projects focusing on installation and VR art. Zesbaans is a new media collective based in Amsterdam. Projects range from gallery expositions to nightlife installations, with an emphasis on technology and interactivity. Zesbaans, founded in 2007, consists of young designers with backgrounds in digital media design, interaction design, motion graphics, VJ-ing and technology.

Nobody Beats the Drum: Let it Go, Max Italiaander, Levi Jacobs The jury soon reached agreement on the winner: a cheeky music video in which the grainy texture of the image combines beautifully with the music. Raw, clever and with gorgeous colours. Everything accords wonderfully. It’s no punishment whatsoever to watch the film over and over and discover new details at every go. The jury was unanimous about the winner.
