My name is Maya Nathan. I am an Israeli/American designer, based in Tel Aviv. Throughout my studies I have explored the connections between textile and its application in our world today. I am interested in the environmental effects that textile production has and believe that creating greater awareness and new technologies is the key to our future in textiles. My work is inspired mainly by what I see in nature. The under water world is of special interest to me. I love traveling and photography, and so every trip and adventure later on comes to life in my work: color, texture, patterns. My desire is to translate abstract feelings into tangible materials. The greatest satisfaction in my work comes from the creative process and translating what inspires me into new forms and design.
