A creative, curious and enthusiastic student with a plethora of extra-curricular experience in graphic design and art. Personable, proactive and distinctly detail-oriented, as evidenced by independently establishing a freelance graphic design business alongside studies. I embrace a global outlook and apply a positive, mindful conscience to everything I do.
I was able to excel in WaterAid's Headquarters, and improved my organisation and flexibility in a professional workspace. A heightened proficiency in communication skills and teamwork through shadowing various departments (Climate Action and Media/Marketing department) thus performing a plethora of roles (i.e. proofreading/editing documents and internal newsletters, designing internal company logos and newsletters). Key aspects of the role included creating and editing internal update newsletter articles on global WaterAid projects; designing logos and banners on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for internal advertisement and global aid causes; communicating with colleagues to solve internal issues regarding organisation, events, and internal learning programmes for staff, and more. I then also committed to an additional internship in Tokyo, Japan on my gap year after having networked with a colleague. I went to schools in Tokyo and taught about water sanitation. Alongside this, my fluency in verbal and written communication in Japanese and English was used towards translation work on official newsletters for WaterAid Japan.
Currently a second year BA Geography student in a four-year integrated masters course. My dissertation subject will be focussed on feminist art, the body, gender and discursive space, which embraces research based on a geography towards art.
