  • I am an experienced Communications and Relations Manager with a broad range of skills across media relations, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, project management and working with high profile figures. My current role is as a Global Communications Manager at Unilever, delivering external supply chain communications. I have a wealth of experience in the areas of sustainability and social impact. Prior to this I was Sustainability Communications Manager for London 2012. This was an incredibly fast paced and exciting role, working very closely with national and international media and stakeholders, tier one sponsors, senior London 2012 figures, working in the press office preparing on the record statements and defending the brand. Before this, I worked for one of the UK’s leading communications’ agencies operating at a strategic level on media campaigns to position clients for customers and stakeholders. I have a track record of digital prowess and significantly increasing company website traffic to convert profit and maintain strong brand reputation. I have strong charity and public sector experience, advising charities such as WWF, The Woodland Trust, Groundwork and London Green Fair Festival.

  • • Lead sustainability communications advisor in a busy and high pressured press office • Communicating on a daily basis with national and international media • Issues management: Reacting and developing responses to media on critical issues • Preparing and issuing on the record statements to national and international media • Developing messaging for the London 2012 sustainability programme • Writing briefing materials for London 2012 Directors, UK and foreign dignitaries (including the First Lady of the United States) and London 2012 celebrity sustainability ambassadors • Event management: Developed and led an international press conference at the Main Press Centre on the Olympic Park • Managed stakeholder relationships with the United Nations, the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012, BioRegional, The Olympic Delivery Authority, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Greater London Authority, the London Legacy Development Corporation, London boroughs and other London 2012 partners, leading NGOs and specialists on London 2012 sustainability plans, messages and issues • Advised sponsors on their sustainability messaging • Proactively sold in positive sustainability stories and ideas to the media • Preparation and implementation of campaigns, media launches, briefings, interviews, articles and other promotional events • Day-to-day responsibility for media enquiries about sustainability related to the London 2012 Games • Advising the LOCOG senior management team on sustainability media issues, prepare questions and answers, briefing material etc • Accompanying senior LOCOG officials and other leading 2012 ambassadors for media interviews and public activities • Writing press releases, quotes, copy for promotional brochures and the London 2012 website
