Recently graduated with a first class degree from Falmouth University in Creative Advertising. I've learnt about PR, campaign creation, marketing, the industry and also have a background in graphic design. Along side looking for book crits and placements in Adland, I am currently looking for a copywriter to team up with... some of my recent work can be found at: http://melshergold.dunked.com
Working part-time along side my degree, I worked as a sales advisor in my local H. Samuel store selling diamond jewellery, wedding rings, watches and gifts. As well as selling directly to customers, I am also trained to deal with minor repairs instore, and help to maintain the shops appearance by working on displays and dealing with stock. Having left university, I am now working part-time in Ernest Jones.
I complete a two week placement in April as a creative intern working on live briefs for clients such as Virgin Pure, YHA, Thyme and Premier Inn. During my time here I helped brainstorm ideas for Virgin Pure, and helped to create work for YHA to launch this summer. When working on Thyme restaurants we created some interior design ideas for their new summer 'window' menu. As well as this, we designed the Premier Inn float for the 800th Lord Mayor's Parade in London on the 14th November 2015. Following a further months placement in October, I was extended for two more months and continued to work as a creative intern. During my time here I worked conceptually for Costa UK, Costa International, Costa Fresco, The Jockey Club, YHA, and the Guardian Weekly among other internal briefs. The included work for launches, giftcard design, emails, branding, radio scripts, and social media.
Two week placement won through their upstarts programme as the art director in a creative team. We worked on a few projects primarily generating online content ideas to pitch for new business.
Spent two summers 2013/2014 looking after the youngest girls on camp to ensure they had a good time, as well as helping to run and teach the arts and crafts programme throughout the scheduled day for all age groups. This included assisting with ceramics, tie-dye, recycled arts projects and various other camp crafts. I also volunteered to help paint the scenery for the camp productions and helped to build props and costumes for the performers.
