I am a recent graduate from Cardiff School of Art and Design where I studied Textile Design and inevitably where I found my love for print. For me textiles is all about being tactile, so my designs mainly consist of creating a range of textures and intense bold mark making in which are then carried through to printing.
As well as my love for printed design, my interests very much lie within sustainability, I am hugely interested in bridging the gap between consumerism and design. I believe that printed design is able to slow down fast fashion and create an attachment within fashion and textiles.
Projects
- URBAN STREETS Urban streets is a collection of hand printed and dyed designs inspired by the streets of London. The collection considers all aspects of a city from the pollution and smog to graffiti and architecture. From this inspiration, I mostly used oil pastels for their grit like textures, helping to represent the gritty, yet upbeat side of a city. To continue with this idea, the colours were carefully selected using only dark, monotone colours with an orange to bring the urban approach to the forefront. A design collection suitable for either fashion or interiors.
