About me
I have been working as an AD in London / Cornwall on varying sized jobs. I have been a First AD on several short films, most recent, a film with two hard of hearing children for a charity. I have been a Second AD on a TV pilot commissioned by the BBC and a Third AD on an art film starring Andre Holland. I am looking for work to lead me up to the Christmas period.
Projects
  • The Evie Project
The Evie ProjectI wrote and directed this short film about a young girl who tries to find a way to help her blind mother, who used to be a successful artist, learn how to paint again. The film stars Sarah, a blind actress and Caitlyn, a nine year old. I attempted to address the inaccurate representation of disabled people and women in cinema by casting Sarah, who is genuinely blind, as the mum. Sarah and Jo are also together in the film, although this is not made clear to the audience, in an attempt to normalis

  • Hear My Voice
Hear My VoiceMike moved to London hoping to find love and the dream part that would launch his opera career. Four years later, he is stuck – his journal is now his best friend. One night, during yet another hook-up, he sees the apparition of his grandmother, a glamorous, eccentric woman who Mike used to travel the world with – she is not impressed. Her repeat visits push Mike to come to terms with himself and allow him to make an unexpected connection.

I worked closely with the script editor and executives in the pre-production and shooting phase of developing this TV series. We worked on six episodes and had to get them ready for publication, then manage any further amendments. I am competent using final draft, partaking in script conferences and handling the notes. I covered the script editor for two weeks whilst she was on holiday and managed well.

I did an intensive one year course at Goldsmiths where I produced, wrote and directed several shorts. I learnt truly how to direct to tell a story, how to work with actors and I also discovered a love for First ADing.

I studied both Creative Writing and Film Production but specialised in Screen writing where I wrote a feature film for my dissertation. This course taught me how to write well for screen and off screen and gave me all the practical skills needed to successfully make a film. During the course I wrote, produced and directed several short films.
