Framestore co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Mike McGee, has directed for some of the UK's best-known brands, including the BBC, Next and O2. He has flown in the 'vomit comet' to shoot in zero gravity for Robinsons, and his most recent directing work has been for Speedo's 'Winning Elements' campaign featuring a squad of world class swimmers. Having worked in the industry for over 30 years Mike has won numerous awards including three Prime Time Emmy’s.
Mike’s skills as a live-action director are built on an exceptional understanding of visual effects. His credits as a VFX supervisor include the BBC’s Walking with Dinosaurs, feature films Nanny McPhee and Your Highness, and advertising campaigns for GE and ESPN. Mike has also given talks at various events across the world such as Bloomberg Design Week, Contagious' Now, Next, Why? and the GREAT festival of Creativity, whilst writing articles for well-known publications such as The Guardian and Marketing Magazine. Mike was Chairman of the Digital and Animation jury at the 2015 Ciclope Festival, also giving a talk on the future of Virtual Reality.tel
