About me
Mike has 20 years of experience delivering integrated branding projects and digital communications. Clients have spanned from pioneering start-ups to global and online brands including: Aviva, Betfair, Ebay, Jose Cuervo, JustGiving, Orange and Skype. He started his career at legendary (but now defunct) digital agency Deepend and has since worked at Interbrand, disruptive integrated agency Albion and Havas Worldwide London. Mike recently joined onefinestay as Design Director. He is a regular contributor to Design Week and actively involved with the D&AD, creating workshops for New Blood Festival. Mike has also chaired and judged on various design awards panels over the years.

  • CUERVO BRAND
    CUERVO BRANDCuervo Brand. Brand identity refresh for Cuervo global tequila brand using the brand positioning idea of 'The tequila from Tequila'. We created an integrated brand and campaign identity system inspired by the town of Tequila itself.
  • SKYPE BRAND
    SKYPE BRANDSkype brand Acting as brand guardians for Skype, helping to grow the business from startup to IPO. One of the key projects was to create the Skype-for-business brand proposition and brand world to enable global growth, market share and awareness. The business-centric illustrative kit and brand world was created as a modular, flexible design system working with the talented Mr. Simon Cook.
  • JUSTGIVING BRAND
    JUSTGIVING BRANDJustGiving Brand. The unique challenge and insight for this identity was to start from a non-conventional, digitally native angle. Aiming to create a global action for giving to enable and grow the world's generosity. This meant creating a suite of JustGiving donation buttons that would be used globally, become iconic and be simple to recognize online at key opportunities for giving. Then building an identity system out from that point.

  • Cuervo - Re-Brand
    Cuervo - Re-BrandBrand ID refresh for Cuervo tequila using the brand positioning idea of 'The tequila from Tequila'. We created an integrated brand and campaign identity system inspired by the town of Tequila itself. My core task on this project was to conceive, plan and spearhead the creation of an illustrative style and asset library for use alongside photography and editorial, all of which would be used to create branded content for both campaign and non-campaign materials.
