Milena is a recent Goldsmiths graduate and practising artist, with an interest in identity, using familiar objects to comment on social issues that affect us all, and expressing current political topics through the use of common materials and experiences.
She has a keen interest in how ideas and people are presented to an audience, and how they can be manipulated using language and visual cues, seeking new ways to engage spectators with her projects to create maximum impact.

- 'MICHELLE'S DAY OUT''Michelle's Day Out' is an exploration of chance and deconstruction of narrative, centred around an occult-themed gathering. The soundtrack is a continuous recording from a radio, unedited. The concept for the soundtrack was to emulate a spirit box; a device used to communicate with spirits through radio channels. Shown at Rosemary Branch Theatre, London in March 2017. Direction, sound mixing, set and styled by Weronika Szymanek.
- 'ONE SIZE FITS NONE'A collection of absurdist sculptures, exploring the idea of useless objects and their affordances. The pieces are made to be uncomfortable and impossible to wear, thus subverting their original purpose. The film is a documentation of a performance which looks at how we could interact with useless clothes. Sculptures: wire mesh, clothes, emulsion paint. - 'GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, ASPICS DO'A project contemplating the representation of guns and violence in the media. Photography series featuring gelatine gun sculptures. Mix of black and white analogue and digital colour photos. Gun-shaped jellies made using gelatine, glycerine and food colouring. I assisted the Director of an up-and-coming creative arts organisation in delivering their second group exhibition. I was in charge of budgeting, liaising with sponsors and prospective venues, as well as with the 10 artists exhibiting. I assisted with the creation and continuation of the brand image in publicity material and on social media, developing my organisation skills and confidence in my professional abilities.
