About me
As a passionate graphic designer and illustrator, I create bold work and contribute fresh ideas to a team. Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, I love using my creativity to solve challenges and produce high quality design. I work best with open-minded, enthusiastic people - engaging, listening and challenging to develop effective, original designs which meet and exceed any objective. What I'm looking for in a potential role is the ability to incorporate a number of different skills, and my keen eye for detail, to communicate with an audience in unique ways. With a first class degree in Visual Communications and experience designing for digital and print in the retail sector, I'm looking to join a studio with opportunities to grow and share my ideas.

  • The Purpose of Perfume
The Purpose of PerfumeThe Purpose of Perfume is a call out campaign consisting of three screen printed posters, a zine and perfume testers. It explores what perfume means to different women and how the current advertising of it from different brands can have a negative impact on marginalised communities. Perfume can be more than just a smell, but when will that be a good thing?
  • Social Issues in Advertising Design [Designed Dissertation]
Social Issues in Advertising Design [Designed Dissertation]Social Issues in Advertising Design: A Hypothetical Guideline for Modern Brands is the dissertation I submitted for my bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications: Graphic Design. It begins by exploring the impact social design has had on different movements (from protest signs to logo design) and goes forth to document the way that advertisers have tried to replicate this type of design to benefit non-ethical brands. By analysing a series of recent case studies, the dissertation recommends how s

Moving to KIDLY has given me a chance to learn and explore digital design in another retail environment. I design several e-mails each week using Sketch and Mailchimp, collaborating with the communications team. My other day to day tasks include web design, inorganic social media graphics and digital advertising for the KIDLY and KIDLY Label brand identities. This role has also encouraged me to learn basic retouching, which in turn allows me more freedom with layout and the ability to create movement in my designs. I also enjoy assisting on creative photoshoots, as I can have more direction in the marketing campaigns I'm designing for, and consider how the composition of an image can work with the typography.

After less than a year at JoJo, I was promoted to Graphic Designer, a role which demanded the production of excellent quality work in a fast paced environment. My main focus with this move was on catalogues and various types of branded packaging, such as product packaging, swing tags, stickers and user guides - although my responsibilities also extended to POS and various marketing collateral as I supported the Senior Graphic Designer.

UCA provided me with many opportunities to learn different mediums, which has had a heavy influence on my work. Although my work is primarily made digitally, I always like to include some analogue elements in it. For example, my minor project included hand drawn illustrations while the posters for my major project were screen printed. I believe it is this mesh of processes, backed up with thorough research, that earned me this first class degree.

My foundation year was a very pivotal time in my development as a creative. I used this year to study fine art, visual communications and lens based media, eventually meshing them together for the final major project. I passed this course with a completely different frame of mind from what I went in with and I'm extremely grateful for the complete creative freedom I had during this time.
