Contracted into a cancer research funding organisation to implement a social media strategy and build a week-by-week content calendar to present academic research to the lay community. I built a working tool to track and report our analytics, focusing on an increase in reach, clicks and engagement. Through building a strong relationship with partner institutions, I created and curated content that was designed to optimise SEO for their target audience. Part of the role was to mentor the organisation government board on social media best practice, how to use their CMS and Google Analytics. I developed business and marketing materials to use both internally and externally. I also worked very closely with the web hosting company to develop a mobile and user-friendly website. Achievements: • 300% increase in reach in a period of a week • 40% increase in memberships • 100% increase in engagement in the space of a week
Arlians, a B2B start-up in London, hired me to help them begin discussions with potential clients through email marketing and social media. Using predominantly Twitter and email, I sourced and contacted CEOs and entrepreneurs to introduce them to the Arlians team. I created an email marketing campaign which the team could go on to use to build their digital presence and increase pre-launch sign-ups.
Contracted as the sole content producer to work across the largest three digital transformation projects in any Australian University. I opened up dialogue with over 300 subject matter experts to win support for the projects and discuss their content needs. I wrote specialised, online-friendly content for multiple audiences and worked with freelance writers to ensure they were writing to brief as well as editing their submitted copy to uphold best SEO practice, branding and tone of voice. As project manager, I created a system for our freelance writers to work remotely. Other duties included liaising with our designer and photographer to ensure the right imagery was used and utilised analytics to decipher what content was working and what was not.
Headhunted for the social media role at London Met to help them enhance their social media at a critical time of the academic year. Alongside the one other social media marketer, I developed advertisements and campaigns to encourage future students to enrol at LMU. Focusing on student trends and important university information, I created a monthly content calendar to improve our social media reach and engagement. I worked with key stakeholders to ensure all our digital channels were on brand. Using Adobe Creative Suite, I developed digital marketing materials to be used on social media, our CMS and in emails. I presented weekly reports on our analytics to the digital marketing team to show what we were achieving and where we were falling behind in comparison to other universities. I also reported live from large university events. Achievements: • Designed the Snapchat filter which is used at all LMU events and by students within the University
Focusing heavily on food and fitness routines, I wrote SEO focused articles and worked to improve their social media presence to engage with their fast-growing audience. I liaised with other health brands and social media influencers to collaborate and promote the Nom Nom brand. I promoted the app and blog by creating online competitions and designed multiple promotion packs and online materials. I lead a dramatic overhaul of website design and content to provide a more user-friendly experience.
I won this award in April 2016 for the hard work and effort that I put into being editor of Verve. It was acknowledged that I had turned the paper around and gave it a new breath of fresh air!
