  • Fighting For Change
Fighting For Changehttp://www.thegryphon.co.uk/tag/charlie-craggs/ This article was an interview with transgender activist Charlie Craggs. Charlie has a campaign, Nail Transphobia which she started during her time at university, and has since become nationally acclaimed. In this interview, I talk to her about some of the motivating factors behind starting her campaign, things she's most proud of and what she sees in her future. This was a hugely important article for me as it marked a clear cross-over into topics that I was determined to cover, more real, hard hitting and powerful stories and the people behind them.
  • Putting The Soul Back Into CX
Putting The Soul Back Into CXThis project was a recent event was based at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf and centred on the concept that we should put people an meaningful experiences back at the heart of great customer experience. I worked as part of the marketing team from the very start of the planning process including finding an appropriate venue for our 150 guests, organising external contractors (eg. companies handling delegate registration), coming up with an event theme, creating a social media toolkit for speakers and colleagues, writing and producing pre and post-event content and taking care of practical responsibilities such as collateral printing and hotel arrangements. Speakers at the event included Directors at companies such as Affinity Water, Calor and Retail Times. On the day of the event, set up, networking with customers, organising speakers and transcribing notes for future content were my main responsiblities. http://soulful-cx.com/
Work history
    Digital Content Marketer
    Coventry, United KingdomFull Time
Rant & Rave is a company that provides customer engagement solutions to a range of companies. My role here within the Marketing department has been incredibly varied since the start of my employment. I was initially hired in a heavy copywriting capacity writing a variety of content, including but not limited to, blogs, emails, eBooks and product collateral. In the last year, I have been given a broad range of additional responsibilities including regular event and campaign planning, digital design and workflow creation. This has allowed me to become proficient in a range of programmes such as Wordpress, Hubspot and Indesign as well as the more standard systems such as MS Office. In addition, working in the customer experience sphere has allowed me to understand the importance of excellent customer service, clear communication and teamwork as well as developing a strong sense of initiative and time management in an office environment.
    Fashion Editor
     - Leeds, United KingdomFull Time
The Gryphon is the award winning newspaper for the University of Leeds. In my role as fashion editor I came up with three pages of original content each week including trend pieces, topical articles, photo shoots and brand research, as well as sourcing and conducting interviews. As editor I had to both write and delegate articles to my team of writers and sub-editors, lay pages using Indesign and hold weekly writer’s meetings. One of the most challenging tasks here was producing imaginative and original content, and remaining highly organised to fit with strict print deadlines (made more challenging when working alongside final year study). Leading a large team of mixed skill sets also allowed me to improve my communication and patience. I recruited and trained a team of 50 volunteer writers through journalism fairs and networking, as well as organising regular fundraising events in order to help better fund the publication. Despite facing potential judgements about the nature of fashion content being less 'serious', during my time in this role I was dedicated to writing about impactful and meaningful topics such as mental health and wellbeing, racism, ethical considerations and LGBTQI issues with a particular focus on trans visibility in the industry, having created a strong working relationship with a trans activist during my time as editor. I believe as a result of this focus on more far-reaching topics, we managed to extend readership worldwide to five additional countries, were awarded an additional page per week within the paper due to increased demand and increased average online post reach from 40 to 1200 across the year by working directly on our social media presence.
