My name is Nahuel Contreras, and I am an illustrator and writer from London. I have experiences in producing illustrations, newsletters, op-eds, interviews, artist and designer biographies, and press releases for clients and publications. As an illustrator and writer, I have freelanced for Vogue Italia, Vogue China, The Fashionisto, Kaltblut Magazine, Orange Culture, Just Magazine, Color Bloq, TRIP Magazine, AZ Magazine, Pansy Magazine, Nicola Bacchilega, Verv London, BOS Gallery, and the Collezioni buyers guide during Milan Fashion Week.
I have curated and exhibited alongside a 16-part independent collective in Brick Lane, and I am currently exhibiting at BOS Gallery. My experiences collaborating with contemporary designers and artists, have afforded me a readiness to communicate with a broad range of people.

- More Glitter Less Twitter: ASHISH A/W '17 for Pansy MagazineWords by Nahuel Contreras Following a SS17 celebration of the prominence of Indian culture in British society during the wake of Brexit, Ashish has sustained its presence within the London Fashion Week formula as a politically charged show. Its AW17 show declared the message of resistance and solidarity with the USA, daring to tread the glittery path by speaking out against Donald Trump. To a chilling rendition of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', Ashish sent out a diverse casting along a sparkled
- MIRRORS OF CHANGE- GALICIAIn this ongoing project I have reflected stories of change through portraiture, capturing communities and the shifts that occur when people go through transition. As the process of change is not always active and visible, some subtle, I established relationships as a prerequisite before shooting to produce discourses in a variety of contexts. I produced outcomes in both Galicia, a rural coastal region in north-west Spain, and London, a cosmopolitan and diverse metropolis. I created a contrast between the stories of those living in two societies on the opposite ends of the spectrum, highlighting the comparisons and differences and how stories of change could either be the outcome of choice or dictated by circumstances. Throughout the London series, there is a strong emphasis on the effects of gentrification, from the displacement of people from their homes, to the ever-encroaching skylines. The visual narratives throughout the project mirror the dual theme: the changing community and the lives affected. Interviews feature in the self published book.
- Interview with Stephen GillBy Nahuel Contreras Since being introduced to the medium of photography at an early age by his father, Stephen Gill cites that his early work reflected his interests in birds, animals and music. In 1993 he began work at Magnum Photos and in 1997 he became a freelance photographer. Gill’s documentary-esque images are now held in various private and public collections and have also been exhibited at many international galleries and museums including London’s National Portrait Gallery, The Victoria
