Since graduating, I spent two and a half years working as a freelance print designer and started my own company designing silk scarves and other clothing & accessories. Being responsible for every aspect of the business has helped grow my very broad skill set. I have spent a lot of time over the years working with manufacturers, preparing artwork to their specifications and liaising with them in a professional manner. As well as doing all the designing, I have coordinated and styled all of my own photo shoots. I have worked in a college environment for the last two years, working closely with the students as a lecturer & technician. I was given a lot of autonomy in my technician role, being self-directed I was solely responsible for the smooth running of the print studio. During this time I have juggled studying for my PGCE, teaching, my technician job and my independent creative work. For this to have worked I have had to be extremely organised and be able to multitask. I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my print, CAD and fashion knowledge as a teacher but am looking to step away from this line of work and transition into a creative, professional environment. I am extremely hardworking, proactive & enthusiastic. I work in a meticulous way, always ensure everything is done to the highest of standards. I want a job where I can share my creativity, develop my skills and really thrive! I work best in a fast-paced working environment where I can build strong working relationships with people. I am a confident person and believe that communication is key in any working environment, with both colleagues and customers. Having had 7 years working in customer service, my communication and interpersonal skills are of a high quality.Locked Pro Plan feature

On this course I explored three main textile design practices - print, knit and surface design. In order to create innovative designs I learnt to work with many different types of material and techniques, from traditional fabrics to contemporary technologies. From interior surfaces to luxury fashion accessories, I gained an understanding of the professional context and practice of textile design specialising in print.
