BEng (Hons) Product Design EngineeringUniversity of Nottingham
Nottingham, United Kingdom
Currently a Final year undergraduate studying Product Design and Manufacture Engineering (BEng), finishing December 2022. In May I completed my final year design project which was a Portable Oxygen Concentrator to aid a healthy active lifestyle. This project is pulling together all the skills I have acquired over the last 4 years both in and out of my course such as: Concept Ideation, Sketching, Digital Rendering, CAD, Design for Manufacture, Graphic Design, User-Centered Design, Marketing and Presentation skills. This experience means that I am not narrowed in my career direction, having developed skills in several areas. I am also currently doing a research report on Multifunctional Sofas for small living spaces, which is allowing me to pursue my passion for Interior Design within the Product Design field.

The boarding school experience made me independent and mature. I was given opportunities to take part in various academic and extracurricular activities, which helped me develop further as a person – this included Community Action, and School Service where I worked in the marketing department, the thrift store, the library and did many hours of coaching younger years in various sports. I had the opportunity to develop my leadership skills through various roles, which also enabled me to become a much more confident speaker. The school’s diversity reflected the real world and allowed me to interact with people from various ethnic groups, cultures, circumstances and walks of life. It was here that I also developed my interest in Architecture, through evening Architectural History classes and even a A-Level Product Design - Architectural project of a Sports Pavilion with Retractable Seating stand.
