Nat Hues (formerly Natalie Hughes) is an illustrator and artist with a love of colour, nature and mystery. Her work has been published internationally by clients such as Amnesty International, Usborne Publishing, Oxford University Press and Michael O’Mara Books. Nat is represented by The Bright Agency.
Her illustrations conjure a uniquely fun and unusual view of the world, inspired by strange creatures, landscapes and plants, and often touch on interactions between the human world and the natural world. Nat’s work is enjoyed by children and adults alike, from children’s publishing to editorial pieces.
Projects of note include: ‘Freedom to express yourself - an Inspiration notebook’ by Amnesty International, where she shared the pages with her heroes Quentin Blake and Malala Yousafzai.
Her ‘Map Colouring Book’ and ‘Wildlife Map Colouring Book’ published by Michael O’Mara have been translated into multiple languages from Taiwanese to Portugese, and featured in The Guardian’s Christmas Gift Guide 2015.
Nat is based in lovely Leeds, UK, and her work is fueled by David Attenborough documentaries, much tea-drinking, and audio-book listening. She hopes to one day own a yellow camper van, and get better at writing in the third person.
