Writing articles on fashion sustainability for the non profit organisation's platforms
Edited, created and published news stories, features and videos on the website within tight deadlines. Two of my articles, one covering a Better Lives talk at the London College of Fashion and another speaking of the relationship between fashion and politics in Colombia post peace deal, were among the website’s most read stories.
Created and developed this online fashion publication with a perspective on slowness, where I carried out in depth primary and secondary research, audience and market analysis, and commissioned copy from contributors. The result was a compilation of articles, videos and personal statements that portray fashion as a valuable personal, cultural and environmental element within society.
Fashion internship assisting with administrative tasks such as transfers, organisation and information requests about product, putting together online galleries and researching various articles for the fashion team
Aside from my responsibilities in luxury sales, customer service and cultivation, and maintaining visual standards, I was responsible for regularly posting on the internal social media platform about fashion news and events.
Fashion internship coordinating sample requests and returns with public relations agencies and brands. Assisting the fashion team with organisation of fashion cupboard
Editorial internship where I researched topics and interviewees for upcoming articles, transcribed interviews with important personalities from the arts and design industries, and had the opportunity to write a couple of articles for AnOthermag.com. I worked closely with then editors Natalie Rigg and Maisie Skidmore, as well as journalist Olivia Singer (now at British Vogue).
Editorial internship where I researched, carried out and transcribed interviews, and wrote for the print and online sections ‘Indicators’ and ‘How I got here’. Mainly assisted former editor Eric Musgrave and journalist Charlotte Rogers.
Curatorial internship at the Fashion & Decorative Arts Department alongside Timothy Long carrying out analysis and research of the archives’ womenswear and menswear collections. I wrote descriptions on the findings of this research and they were subsequently published in the museum’s online collections platform.
Assisted in overall store operations and sales. Accumulated important knowledge about the denim industry and product range
Supervised business operations, managed product and stock, maintained regular communication with Inditex (Spain), did visual merchandising, personnel management and training, oversaw customer service and sales.
Assistance with company’s social network pages, store management, visual merchandising, human resources and event planning
Management of program’s operations, including contact with foreign agencies, host families and students; accounting, creation of material, managing of social media and advertising, conflict resolution, visiting tours
Over-the-phone interpretation for the Retail, Banking, Insurance and Medical industries
This degree primarily required excellent oral and written communication and research skills for both journalistic and academic environments, in addition to holistic cultural awareness. Expertise in contemporary media and social media platforms, as well as efficient technical skills for Office, Adobe and CMS programmes were a must across all units. I wrote for the university’s publication Pigeons & Peacocks, and was nominated for and won awards such as the Mead Scholarship.
Sewing, pattern making, illustration, visual research, and fashion history were the main elements of this course.
Shortlisted for the prize as a result of my dissertation, "Performing Bodies: Embodiment and Sentiment in Costume"
This is a University-wide competition and award, which I used to visit the Berlin tradeshows in summer 2015.
